New year 2024

 The Current Labor government in Australia will not survive much longer because its dreaming in the clouds is unproductive ,  wasteful and ultimately at odds with sound ecological and economic tensions  - tensions that can and have worked in the past ; but which have been rejected and cancelled by rebels whose minds are still very busy, but whose feet have never touched the ground. 

Where Labor policy touches the earth science issues there are only destructive (and half baked )lightnings strikes . We are a rich country,  so we can survive a few disasters and misfires ( like the expensive adventure in old renewable technologies )
The chickens are coming home to roost and ruin for our children's inspiration and sound  investment planning .
Wise people do not build houses and roads when the simple jobs they are creating do not support families who would live in those houses. Tough thinking real world science in practice careers that would properly prevent disasters and mentor young people in the science of proper earth use MUST be our children's priority. I doubt it will be the priority of those who now exploit our eco ignorance and who are authorized to squander our savings.     

 Our lefts dependency for hope in environmental causes has caused them ( and even many "progressive conservatives" to live in dreamland with unproductive simple and mistargeted Green agendas.

As a resilience economist and on ground earth scientist,  I grieve deeply over the wasted opportunities over the last few decades to keep the countercultural energy of sound conservation alive . Neither the left nor the right know how to do this . 

The challenge of the people to understand is that we live in a culture that worships science but does not practice it is not new to some thinkers ( J Ellul)  but is huge  handicap for the West who only think they know things. and don't see the huge level of ignorance about how the world works .

 Instead of training scientists to solve problems, the desperados in charge employ people to dig holes and plant trees; unproductive and disrespectful in the Savannah  ( grassland )  ecosystem's and soils that are ours to manage and understand.

  Conservatives need to encourage, not grand earthwide solutions and specifications to complex and intertwinned ecological and economic (eg  greed need and access ) challenges but to invest in our children's future by mentoring them in carefilled interventions in both worlds. The medias false capture of a carbon dioxide evil must be ditched for a respectful reinvestment and review of more pressing issues.( I .Plimer Heaven and Earth ). 

It seems to me all effective imaginative conservatives and justice seeking rebels MUST know on what basis they are building by testing the scientific foundations http://cuttingedgecare.blogspot.com   
Being typical human beings, they will run off from the discipline of being under that - to name their own solutions .
